POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED AMMUNITION

Description

On 2nd May 2013, at 7:30pm, Police were on mobile patrol in Roaring Creek Village when they pursued a car with Belize City License plate with three male occupants inside the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop in front of a house on the left side of the George Price Highway and three persons exited the vehicle. The driver was immediately detained whilst the two other male persons managed to run to the back of the yard. A search inside the vehicle revealed a black plastic bag containing (11) 9mm Luger brand rounds of ammunition. One of the two male persons, who escaped, was later apprehended. Found in his possession was a green and red box with two tray, each containing (25) live Luger brand 9mm rounds of ammunition. The driver and owner of the Toyota car was identified to be Jose AYALA, 29 year old Belizean Security Guard. The passenger, who was later apprehended, was identified to be Kenrick LONGSWORTH, 20 year old Belizean Laborer of Belize city. Both persons are presently detained pending charges of Kept Ammunition without a Gun License.
