Description

An American National presently staying in San Ignacio Town visited the police station and reported that on Thursday, April 25, 2013, he met a man, MENDOZA, in San Ignacio Town who asked of his interest in purchasing land. and if so he Mendoza will show him properties that is valued at $4000.00bcy. On Friday, 26th April 2013 at 10:00am, MENDOZA took him to the Branch Mouth Area of San Ignacio Town where he was shown the land. At the same time MENDOZA asked for the money. The complainant told MENDOZA that he would not receive any money until the land documents could be shown to him. In an aggressive manner MENDOZA got hold of a machete, which he had in the vehicle, and demanded the money. The complainant, fearing for his life, gave MENDOZA the sum of $4000.00bcy in different denominations. MENDOZA then promised him a receipt, but up to the time of making this report he has not seen nor heard from MENDOZA. Police have since detained Ronald MENDOZA, 28 year old Belizean Laborer of Esperanza Village, pending charges of Robbery.
