SHOOTING INCIDENT

Description

On Tuesday, 11th June 2013 at about 6:15pm, Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital trauma room where they observed Arturo VARELA, 30 year old Manager of Antelope Street Extension, Belize City, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. Initial police investigation revealed that, around 5:30pm on the same date, he had an argument with his common law wife. Upon leaving his house he observed, inside his mother-in-law's yard which is next door to his, two men putting on ski-mask on their faces. Upon seeing this, he immediately ran inside his house, but the masked men managed to kick open the front door and fired several shots at him causing the above mentioned injuries. Arturo VARELA was transported to the hospital and is listed in a stable condition. As a result, Police have detained four persons all of Antelope Extension, Belize City pending the outcome of the investigation.
