DRUG TRAFFICKING

Description

On Friday, June 7th 2013 at 2:15am, Police Officers were conducting mobile patrol in the Santa Cruz Area, Santa Elena Town when they saw a male person of Hispanic descent walking on Santa Cruz Street. Upon seeing the Police vehicle, the male person threw a black plastic bag off the side of the road and continued walking towards the Police vehicle. He was then escorted to the area where he threw the plastic bag, approximately five feet away from a lighted lamp post. The black plastic bag was retrieved and opened in his presence. It was found to contain green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis. He was informed of the offence committed, placed under arrest, cautioned and escorted along with the suspected cannabis to the San Ignacio Police Station. The suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence which amounted to 265 grams. On Friday, June 7th 2013, Police arrested and charged Antonio ESPAT, 27 year old Belizean Laborer of Santa Elena Town, for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
